House of Origin is a publication devoted to the slow work of excavating the 4th house.
This part of the natal chart is often murky, often misunderstood. It holds both beginnings and endings. It speaks to the inner architecture of your life—your emotional climate, your ancestral inheritances, your relationship to the past. It’s about both what happened and how it lives inside you now.
In Sylvia Plath’s fig tree metaphor, the unlived lives are rotted figs that fall to the ground. The 4th house is where they land, and as they break down, their essence is absorbed. The people you never became don’t vanish; they compost into you. The 4th house can help you hear what they still have to say.
There are many ways in. I’m here to hold a lantern while you move through the dark. Let’s pull up the floorboards.
House of Origin is a place for 4th housers, by a 4th houser. You’re welcome here.
